CIRCLE OF TAPAWINGO

Comments From Parents

"I wanted to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the incredible opportunity you gave my daughter again this year. From the counselors, to the campers, to the beauty of "Tap" itself, she thought this year better than last, and that was high praise indeed. Your passion and commitment to these kids whose lives have been fundamentally changed by sorrow and grief is incredible...I am deeply grateful. She is a more confident pre-teen...and that is due in no small part to your help in allowing her to process her grief and find comfort in knowing there are others who have had the same sorrow, but continue to live. I am sad that she has grown too old to attend next year but will treasure this experience as she will treasure the memories. Thank you all."
Fondly, Larissa Daigle, Barnardston, Massachusetts

"Thank you and your great staff for providing a wonderful camping experience for my grandaughter. She had a great time and went on and on about all the girls, activities, food and everything. It was something she really needed. She seems more positive now. Thanks to all!"
Barbara Kelley, Belgrade, Maine

"A thank you for letting my daughter join you. She enjoyed it very much and has been chatting with some of the girls she met. She was very talkative when she returned, and a little more open to ideas."
Al LaCroix, Randolph, Massachusetts

"She came home happy and filled with songs and tales of her bunkmates, counselors, and activities. She eagerly awaited her film to be developed and share her new friends with us. Recently she has received emails and a letter with photos from one of her counselors. The thrill in her voice and face as she relived the moments in those photos has been priceless.Circle of Tapawingo has given her a new sense of self and confidence she didn't realize she had. She is already talking about next year! We do realize and appreciate that this could not have been possible without the generosity of so many of you who ran the camp and volunteered their time and efforts."
Lisa Brennan, Bridgewater, Massachusetts

"Thank you just isn't enough to say for the amazing week Circle of Tapawingo provided for my daughter and the other girls who were fortunate enough to attend. She had a wonderful time! She told me about the variety of activities (she especially loved tubing), the fun she had making new friends and how nice all the girls were. She said the counselors were 'awesome, very nice, helpful and caring' and, of course, she enjoyed the dogs! Please extend my sincere gratitude to everyone who made Circle of Tapawingo a fantastic and special experience."
Susan Young, Walpole, Massachusetts

"Thanks for providing such a special week for my daughter. She is still pumped up about the experience and telling us snippets of her time with her Circle of Tapawingo friends. Lots of times she talks about camp activities, but she clearly talked about her Dad with campers, too. Sharing with them was on a different level than with other friends, because of their own experiences. I believe there were honest discussions that weren't confused by lack of knowing (fear) what it's like to be missing a parent. Ultimately, my sense is she, at least, doesn't feel alone. My hope is that some of her acquaintances become true friendships. You have really made a difference. I hope we find a way to give something special to others in the way you have for my daughter."
Marian Koetsier, Woodstock, Vermont

"I am writing to thank you so much for providing my daughter with her camp experience. It was a great boost to her confidence and a great comfort to her as we were approaching the one year anniversary of (her father's) death. She loved camp and the people there very much. We are very lucky to have been included. She is writing to her cabin counselors and they are replying. She loves that connection. They sound like incredible people. What you are doing is so valuable. I don't know how to thank you."
Lois Grocki, South Portland, Maine

"For the fourth time, she returned tanned and smiling with a nicer sparkle in her eyes. She retains a stronger sense of self that is wonderful to see! What a gift you give these girls. I don't know what your secret is, but it works! Thank you for all the effort you put into the experience."
Janet Blakeley, Lewiston, Maine
